Father & Daughter Retreats

Psalm 1:3 " He will be like a tree  firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does,he prospers."

Every year my dad and the older girls go to a father/daughter retreat that our church puts together. It is always so much fun hanging out with our dad and we enjoyed doing a lot of cool stuff that young ladies could do with our dads, but most importantly making our relationships with our dads grow stronger.

In 2012 the theme was " Have You In My Heart" and the verse was Psalm 28:7 "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and my song will praise Him." We focused on how our relationship should look like with our dad.  During the retreat in 2012, we learned how we as women of God should respond to our father's leadership.. We can accept it with gratitude and have our dads hearts or we can reject it. Which one do you choose?

In 2013, the theme was "Cultivating Women Of God" and the verse was Proverbs 31:30 "Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised." That year we were being encouraged to bloom into Godly young ladies and grow towards Him.

This year's theme was "Nurturing to Full Bloom." Ephesians 5:1 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  As daughters we need to fully bloom and must be grounded in our faith. We talked about building relationships, how we have grown and what kind of women we want to be.

Remember that you are daughters of Christ and you must keep your focus on your Heavenly Father. We must submit our lives to Jesus, fear the Lord, humble ourselves and allow God to get the glory. Are you willing to follow Christ no matter what lays ahead?

I can't wait to see what we will learn in 2015! Lets continue to grow closer to both our Heavenly and earthly father!

Christmas Fun

On Sunday, most of our church family were sick and traveling, so it was just our pastor and his family of 8 and my family. We sung some Christmas Carols like we normally do during this time of the year, then we sat around a circle and talked about the prophesies of the Messiah in the Old and New Testament and how they match Jesus perfectly

Here are some of the Prophesies we read:

Isaiah 9:6-7 "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; And His Name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness. From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this."

Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give a sign;  The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and will call Him Immanuel."

Psalm 132:11 "The Lord swore an oath to David, a sure oath he will not revoke: One of your own descendants I will place one your throne"

John 1:18 "  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men, The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."

Romans 1:2-3 "...which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh."

Galations 4:4 "But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law."

Luke 1:32-33 " He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most high; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end."

After the service we shared our favorite family traditions. We talked about wrapping gifts, making Christmas treats, singing happy birthday to Jesus, shopping for one another, making a birthday cake for Jesus, singing Christmas carols, drinking hot chocolate around the fireplace, watching Christmas movies, decorating the Christmas tree, and last but not least we all love visiting with family!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! May we always  remember the birth of the Messiah coming as a helpless little child and later becoming a sacrifice for us all. He willingly died, offering Himself  on the cross to make our "sins white as snow".   Jesus is truly the best Christmas gift!

Christmas Tree Farm 2014

While my Aunt Sarah and Uncle David were in town they wanted to pick out their first real live Christmas tree for their first home together to celebrate their first Wedding Anniversary. My whole family, Amma and Poppy and all the dogs went with them. After they have searched and looked at several different Christmas trees, they finally found the 'perfect one'!

Our beliefs on Halloween

In a few weeks many people will be celebrating Halloween. This holiday is Satan's holiday, and his day and he loves to lead people into sin. I know there are many Christians out there who do not know the true meaning of Halloween and they celebrate it with many other people. My family never celebrates this day, instead we celebrate Reformation Day. Last year my mom had the privilege interviewing two former-wiccans, who are now Christians. They explained the meaning of Halloween so well and it is worth reading.

On Reformation Day we usually have some kind of special dinner and dessert that my mom makes that is similar to what the reformers would have eaten in their time. After dinner all my siblings would dress up just like Martin Luther, William Tyndale, John Wycliffe and many other reformers.

Please take the time and read this and understand the real meaning of Halloween and understand the meaning behind it to know the truth.

Here is the link to my mom's blog that tells about the REAL meaning of Halloween:
